Wonders of Winter
As we near the Winter Solstice, the brimming of dark days are upon us. Swiftly invited into the depth that comes hand in hand with the gray skies, shortened days, & the inevitable dive into the shadow of ourselves & the world around us when the stillness of the season provides the potent mirror we may all be in need of.
As the trees lose the last of their leaves we feel the cold deepen within our bones. Vibrant colors falling away with each morning breeze. Stripped naked, yet softened into the surrender of it all. Strong & solid roots that somehow know in the following season they will once again be able to grow. I too am reminded, to find this strength & do my best to honor this cyclical flow.
How can I let go of what doesn’t serve me? Let my leaves drift into the breeze with such effortless ease. How can I embrace the wisdom I’ve learned from the trees?
Where am I being called to freeze? To pause for a moment as the earth slows its pace, maybe I as well am being called to slow down. To sink in, to see a bit differently.
I lean into the love that is in the small moments, the cold bite of beauty in this brisk & brilliant season. Where the sun may not always shine, where some days things may not always feel fine. It is okay to be here & yearn to be there. The seasons will come & go, the question is what will they show?
So I wonder dear, what will this winter clear? How do you allow it to do so without invoking fear?
